100 for 100

Preserving Scouting for Another 100 Years

In 2010, the Boy Scouts of America will reach an incredible milestone – its 100th anniversary of providing lifetime values to young men and women across this great nation. In celebration of this great honor, the Monmouth Council is offering you the opportunity to preserve the next 100 years right here in our community.

Gifts of cash or marketable securities to the Council’s Endowment Fund is one of the best ways to ensure that this Council can continue to offer the outstanding programs it now has and also grow to meet the needs of the youth of tomorrow. The Monmouth Council Endowment Committee would like to share with you the opportunity to join the James E. West Fellowship with a gift of $1,000 or higher in cash or marketable securities to the Council’s Endowment Fund. This fund is professionally managed by Wachovia Bank which provided an over 10% return on its investment last year. The Monmouth Council has a Total Return Policy, the combination of interest and principal change, of 4% from the Endowment Fund it utilizes annually for its operating budget.

As a new James E. West Fellow, you will receive a handsome certificate, pin, knot, and to celebrate the 100th anniversary, a limited edition “100 for 100” commemorative patch. Gifts may also be made in honor of a special accomplishment such as attaining Eagle Scout, Silver Beaver, retirement, or in memory of a special individual. Only 100 of this patch will be produced. Gifts may also be through payment options, for example monthly at $83.33 for 12 months or quarterly payments over two years. All new members of this “100 for 100” society will be invited to a very special reception.

Thank you in advance for your consideration of preserving Scouting’s future for another 100 years.
