Monmouth Council, Boy Scouts of America,
To Recognize Anthony Ammiano

The Monmouth Council, Boy Scouts of America, will hold its 2008 Western Monmouth “Good Scout Award” Reception on Thursday, May 29, 5:30pm, at

Battleground Country Club, in Manalapan. Anthony Ammiano, the former mayor of Freehold Township, will be recognized for his distinguished record of community service, participating citizenship, and volunteer work. The “Good Scout Award” was developed and first presented in 2000. The Award recognizes community and business leaders for their role in supporting community and civic activities and their dedication to improving the quality of life for its citizens. Recipients also serve as role models for Scouts and leaders alike.

Edwina Howell, District Commissioner for the Council’s Battleground District, serving western Monmouth County, will also be recognized with a Lifetime Achievement Award for her commitment to Scouting. All proceeds from the Reception will help to support the Scouting program which serves over 7,000 youth throughout Monmouth County.
